Labiaplasty, or aesthetic labia minora reduction, has become a more commonly-requested procedure by female patients in San Diego. Labiaplasty surgery is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis in our San Diego Plastic Surgery Center. You will need to apply ice to the surgical site for about two days. Antibiotic ointment will need to be applied to the incisions twice daily for about one week. You will have to avoid strenuous activity and sexual intercourse for six weeks after surgery. The risks of surgery include bleeding, infection, delayed wound healing, and sensory changes of the surgical site.
