Have you ever wished for more curves or an hourglass figure? Maybe you have a flat butt, or your pants do not fit the way you would like. Now you can get your dream body with a Brazilian butt lift. Located in Beverly Hills, CA, Dr. Dennis Dass offers a number of anti-aging, breast, and body procedures to help patients achieve the looks they desire.
Flat butt treatment
Named after the curvaceous bottoms of Brazilian women, a Brazilian butt lift adds curves and volume. Also called a butt augmentation, this fat grafting procedure takes excess fat from one area of the body and implants it into areas of the butt. If you wish to alter your figure and have excess fat in another area, this may be an effective treatment for you.
Some women are born with flat, small, or boxy rear ends. Others experience sagging with age. Either way, a butt lift can improve your backside. Although butt augmentation procedures are often geared toward women, men may be candidates as well. Many men complain of having a flat or small butt. This problem can be corrected with a butt lift. This procedure helps balance the body giving added curves and lift. Patients who have flat, small, sagging, or asymmetrical buttocks may benefit from a butt augmentation.
Candidates for a Brazilian butt lift wish to change their buttocks with the following:
- Adding volume to a small or flat bottom
- Creating a more rounded bottom
- Balancing out the curves of the body
- Creating an hourglass figure
- Producing a lifted appearance by adding fat to the upper area of the buttocks
How a butt lift is performed
If you are considering altering your body through cosmetic procedures, you must first schedule a consultation with Dr. Dass. During the consultation, you can discuss your areas of concern, medical history, and anticipated goals. Dr. Dass evaluates your concerns and takes photographs to establish a treatment plan. Since a butt lift is a fat grafting procedure, a physical exam is necessary to determine if there is enough available fat to use in another area and to plan the ideal locations for augmentation. If you are a candidate for a Brazilian butt lift, the procedure is discussed at length including the method used, benefits, risks, and expected results.
Dr. Dass performs the procedure in an accredited surgical facility to ensure optimal health and safety standards. Once anesthesia is administered to ensure patient comfort, the procedure begins with liposuction. Small, inconspicuous incisions are made, and a thin tube is inserted to loosen and suction out the fat. The fat is removed from areas with excess, generally the thighs, flanks, or abdomen. By performing liposuction in these areas, the areas around the buttocks look slimmer which improves the hourglass shape. Often, more fat is removed than what is needed because some of the fat will not survive the transplantation process.
The fat, tissue, and blood that were removed are processed and purified. This produces pure fat that can be reinjected into the targeted areas of the buttocks. Injecting the fat into the upper quadrants of the butt creates a lifted appearance and a beautiful S-shaped curve. Sutures are usually unnecessary for this procedure.
A Brazilian butt lift surgery is less invasive than a butt augmentation using implants. One of the biggest advantages to a Brazilian butt lift is that it uses your own fat for the transfer. This minimizes the risks of a negative reaction to a foreign substance because there is no new material added. However, side effects such as bruising, bleeding, swelling, or scarring are still possible.
It is important to have a positive outlook and a commitment to post-operative care to achieve the best possible surgical outcome. The surgical team will give you post-care instructions, but do not hesitate to ask if you have specific questions about recovery. Following the given instructions promotes healing and produces optimal results.
Although each patient is different, the recovery period is generally about two weeks. You can expect your butt and liposuctioned areas to be sore on the day of surgery. Sitting is allowed. However, you should sleep on your belly and minimize sitting time during the recovery period to avoid damaging the fat cells. When you do sit, you may want to place a pillow under your legs to keep pressure off your buttocks. If you sit full time at work, you may need additional time off. Ask your doctor for specific work-related restrictions. Walk daily to reduce complications. Wearing a compression garment helps reduce swelling and aids the healing process. Cold compresses may also be used to minimize swelling and to help with discomfort.
Even with the initial swelling, you will notice your shapely posterior immediately. Although some of the initial volume will fade as the body absorbs the transplanted fat, most patients retain 60-80% of the fat. This is why more fat is often transplanted than what is needed. The result is a more curvaceous and lifted, yet natural-looking buttocks.
Your results are long-lasting. Losing or gaining weight may change the look of your buttocks. The transplanted fat may expand or shrink just like any other fat cells in the body. As your body ages, you may lose some firmness but most of the volume should remain. Maintain your results with a healthy diet and lifestyle.
A butt lift is a standalone procedure but may be part of a treatment plan in a mommy makeover. If you are looking for more of a total look, a butt lift, breast augmentation and/or lift, liposuction treatment, and/or tummy tuck can completely alter the body shape. Although these procedures may not all be done together, they can be part of a general treatment plan to help you get the figure you want.Back to Brazilian ButtLift Page
