Brow Lift Beverly Hills – Forehead Lift
Introduction
A large number of patients complain about their upper face. Friends and family members might tell them that they look tired, sad, or even angry. Rejuvenation of the upper face is a multifaceted problem that often requires improvement of the forehead and eyes.
As we age, the forehead and eyebrows begin to descend into the eyes. People often mistake this for extra upper eyelid skin, but it is actually the lateral (side) eyebrow that has fallen, creating a hood over the upper part of the eyes. This further worsens the excess skin on the upper eyelids. To overcome this, patients raise their eyebrows (without knowing it) and this worsens the transverse wrinkles on the forehead. They may also see worsening of the vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows. These patients are great candidates for a brow lift in Beverly Hills.
Surgery
Brow lift, or forehead lift, is a procedure to raise the eyebrows back to the normal position, improve the wrinkles on the forehead, and improve the wrinkles between the eyebrows. Brow lift is the facelift procedure for the upper third of the face. The surgery is classically done in conjunction with an eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) for comprehensive eye rejuvenation.
There are many different techniques for performing a brow lift. The choice of technique is determined on a case by case basis. A coronal brow lift is done by hiding an incision in the scalp, behind the hairline, that extends from ear to ear. A hairline brow lift (trichial) may be advantageous in patients with very high foreheads, because the hairline will not be raised. Temporal brow lift can be performed if only a portion of the eyebrow needs to be raised. Endoscopic brow lifts are performed through 3-5 small incisions hidden in the scalp, and avoids the large scar in the scalp, while preserving scalp sensation. Surgery is done as an outpatient in our Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Center.

Brow Lift (Forehead Lift) FAQS
What is a brow lift?
A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a cosmetic surgery designed to raise the eyebrows and reduce wrinkles or sagging skin on the forehead. This procedure can improve a tired or angry appearance by opening up the eye area and smoothing forehead lines.
How long does a forehead lift last?
The results of a brow lift typically last for 10 to 15 years, depending on skin type, genetics, and lifestyle factors. Proper skincare and sun protection can help prolong the effects.
Will a brow lift make my forehead smaller?
No, a brow lift does not reduce the size of the forehead. Instead, it raises the brows and smooths wrinkles, which can give the illusion of a more balanced face, but it does not alter the size of the forehead itself.
Is brow lift surgery permanent?
While brow lift results are long-lasting, they are not entirely permanent. The aging process will continue, and over time, new wrinkles or sagging may develop, though you will still appear younger than you would have without the surgery.
What is the difference between a forehead lift and a brow lift?
The terms “forehead lift” and “brow lift” are often used interchangeably. Both refer to the same procedure, which elevates the eyebrows and smooths forehead wrinkles to create a more youthful appearance.
How painful is a brow lift?
A brow lift is generally not very painful. Patients may experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising after surgery, but this is usually manageable with prescribed pain medications and subsides within a week.
Does brow lift change eye shape?
A brow lift can slightly alter the appearance of the eyes by lifting the brows and reducing hooded lids, but it does not change the eye shape itself. The result is a more open and refreshed look.
Who needs a brow lift?
Individuals with sagging eyebrows, deep forehead wrinkles, or heavy, droopy upper eyelids are good candidates for a brow lift. People who feel their facial expressions appear tired, angry, or aged may benefit from the procedure.
How long does brow lifting last?
A brow lift typically lasts 10 to 15 years. Lifestyle choices such as sun protection, skincare, and avoiding smoking can extend the longevity of the results.
Does brow lift leave scars?
A brow lift leaves minimal scarring, as incisions are often hidden within the hairline. These scars fade over time and become nearly invisible with proper post-surgical care.
