Eyelid Lift Beverly Hills

  • Remove droopy upper eyelid skin
  • Fix lower eyelid bags
  • Look more youthful
  • Look more rested

Upper blepharoplasty is performed to remove the excess skin that develops on our upper eyelids as we age. The excess skin that droops along the lateral eyelid creates a tired look. During surgery, an incision is created on your upper eyelid, and typically heals well. The incision is usually well hidden in a natural eyelid skin crease. You will see an immediate improvement in the look of your eyes. In some cases, the upper eyelid appears droopy because the eyebrow position is too low. Brow lift surgery can be performed at the same time as a blepharoplasty to improve the overall appearance of the eyes and make you look more rested.

Lower blepharoplasty is performed to remove the excess skin and fat that develops around the lower eyelids as we age. This surgery improves the lower lid bags and can also smooth out the eyelid-cheek junction. A canthopexy may be required to tighten the lower eyelid.

Eyelid surgery can be done under local or general anesthesia. It can be done at the same time as other procedures to reduce your costs. The swelling and bruising will resolve in about 1-2 weeks.

Blepharoplasty is a real surgery and carries a small risk of complications. Risks of surgery include bleeding, infection, scars, dry eyes, asymmetry, and eyelid malposition. Risks are often dependent on your current medical condition. Dr. Dass performs surgery in an accredited surgical facility to maintain the highest standards for safety. During your consultation, we will discuss your specific risks of surgery.

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift) FAQS

How long will blepharoplasty eyelid surgery last?

The results of blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift surgery, typically last for 10 to 15 years. In some cases, the results may be permanent, especially for the lower eyelids, though the upper eyelids may continue to age over time.

Is blepharoplasty the same as eyelid lift?

Yes, blepharoplasty is another term for eyelid lift surgery. It involves removing excess skin, fat, or muscle from the upper or lower eyelids to improve appearance and, in some cases, vision.

How painful is eyelid lift surgery?

Eyelid lift surgery is generally not very painful. Patients may experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising, but these symptoms are manageable with pain medication and cold compresses. Most discomfort subsides within a few days.

What is the best age for blepharoplasty?

The best age for blepharoplasty varies, but most patients seek the procedure between 35 and 60, when aging signs like drooping eyelids or puffy bags under the eyes become more noticeable.

What is better than blepharoplasty?

For individuals who are not ready for surgery, non-invasive treatments like dermal fillers, laser skin tightening, or radiofrequency treatments may provide temporary improvement for eye area concerns. However, these options do not provide the long-lasting results of blepharoplasty.

Will I look younger after eyelid surgery?

Yes, eyelid surgery can rejuvenate the eye area, making you appear younger and more refreshed. By removing excess skin and fat, blepharoplasty can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, bags, and sagging around the eyes.

Is blepharoplasty safe?

Blepharoplasty is generally considered a safe procedure when performed by a qualified plastic surgeon. As with any surgery, there are risks such as infection, bleeding, or scarring, but complications are rare with proper care.

Do eyes look bigger after blepharoplasty?

Yes, blepharoplasty can create the appearance of larger, more open eyes by removing droopy or sagging eyelid skin. However, the change is subtle and natural-looking.

What is the difference between eyelid surgery and blepharoplasty?

There is no difference; blepharoplasty is simply the medical term for eyelid surgery.

Can eyelids be lifted without surgery?

Yes, non-surgical options like laser therapy, radiofrequency treatments, and dermal fillers can temporarily improve eyelid appearance. However, these methods do not provide the same long-lasting results as surgical blepharoplasty.
