Juvederm® Voluma Beverly Hills
FDA approved Juvederm® Voluma is a hyaluronic acid soft tissue filler that is FDA approved for cheek augmentation, correction of age-related midface volume loss. Hyaluronic acid is safe and is commonly used as a facial filler because it is sugar molecule naturally found in the body.
Why do we need fillers?
The aging process results in the sagging of facial skin due to a number of factors, including loss of elasticity and volume. The deep facial structures lose volume, particularly in the bone and fat. This volume loss results in a relative excess of skin and midfacial descent, ie a tired and aged appearance. A youthful face appears full with high cheekbones. Soft tissue fillers are used to revolumize the areas of volume loss due to aging.

How is the procedure done?
Juvederm® Voluma is an in-office procedure that takes just a few minutes. Dr. Dass will first asses the face and determine the areas of concern. A series of injections will be placed to improve the facial contours, restore volume, and make the face appear more balanced. The injections contain Lidocaine (a local anesthetic) to make the procedure well tolerated. You may experience temporary redness and/or bruising due to the injections. Depending on patient age and degree of volume loss, multiple syringes may be required for adequate volume restoration. The procedure is often combined with Botox® or Laser facial for a more complete facial rejuvenation.
How long does it last?
You will see the results immediately after the injections are placed. The results are temporary because hyaluronic acid is slowly broken down by the body. The Juvederm® Voluma injections will last upto 2 years depending on the location where it was injected. Repeat injections at 6-12 months, a technique called product layering, helps to improve the longevity of treatment results.
